Polestar® Pilates MAT

For the second time, we are starting the prestigious Polestar® Pilates MAT training in Lithuania 2023 November 11-12th together with Polestar® Pilates School (USA)!

A unique opportunity to acquire Pilates knowledge according to international standards, the Polestar® Pilates trainer certificate, which is included in the international register. These courses are ideal for physical activity specialists, personal trainers, rehabilitation specialists, pilates enthusiasts and other movement (e.g. yoga, dance) teachers seeking to gain a Pilates Mat qualification according to international standards for group and personal training.

Training structure:

Movement principles Polestar® Pilates video seminar as an option in English (conducted by Pilates Polestar® school founder and president – Brent Anderson) or in Russian with translation into Lithuanian (conducted by Polestar® Pilates certified teacher Elena Volkova (here)).

3 levels of Polestar® Pilates Mat, 2 days each (led by certified Polestar Pilates teacher Ina Mochalina, Latvia).

Color textbooks (quality photos, full description of exercises, methodical material).

 Personal account with video content (lectures and lessons).

Cards with lessons.

Each workshop is followed by a Polestar® Pilates (USA) trainee certificate, recognized worldwide.

Important!!! Participation in all 3 Polestar Pilates Mat levels and Movement Principles Polestar® Pilates workshop entitles you to take the final exam and obtain the International Polestar® Pilates trainer certificate!

Pilates Mat course training begins with a video seminar Movement principles Polestar® Pilates and online lectures (on-line mode). In this online lecture, led by Brent Anderson, the founder and president of Polestar® Pilates, you will get to know the history of the method, learn the basics of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics that Polestar uses in its training, as well as learn the basics of ethics in the professional community.

Studying the Polestar® Pilates Mat course gives you a complete concept of conducting and arranging training.The advanced standards include clear instructions for planning your workout, but at the same time allow you to be creative!

Important!

Each Polestar® Pilates Mat workshop is followed by a Polestar® Pilates (USA) trainee certificate.

Participation in all 3 Polestar® Pilates Mat levels and after attending the Principles of Movement Polestar® Pilates seminar gives you the right to take the final exam and obtain the International Polestar® Pilates trainer certificate!

More detailed information about the exam is provided during training.

 

The video seminar “Polestar Movement Principles” must be listened to before starting the basic training, i.e. participation in practical seminars, Polestar Pilates Mat!

POLESTAR PILATES MAT PROGRAM:

Time of the seminar:

Registration: 9:30-10:00 a.m. Seminar: 10:00-18:00 ,

Lunch break: 13.00-14.00 hrs.

Location: Goodlife sports club, Priegliaus st. 1, PC PUPA, Vilnius.

During this two-day course, you will learn how to lead 4 Pilates classes on the mat for beginners and intermediate levels.

The course consists of 19 exercises from the preparatory (PRE-Pilates) and original (Mat) Pilates repertoire on the mat.

The teacher will provide you with detailed information for real practice of each of the four Pilates Mat sequences.

Each participant will receive educational cards that they can use as a learning resource.

Also, course participants will have 6 months of free access to a personal Polestar Pilates student account.

This course is required to continue training in the Polestar Pilates Mat program.

Course objectives

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

1. Correctly perform 13 exercises from the Polestar Pre Pilates repertoire and 6 exercises from the Polestar Pilates Mat repertoire.
2. Correctly identify the most important goals and objectives of each exercise.
3. Learn to lead at least 4 sessions on the mat, lasting from 30 to 60 minutes.
4. Understand the most common contraindications and precautions for each mat Pilates exercise.
5. Modify mat exercises based on client/training goals using changes in lever lengths, range of motion, support area, pace, and additional tools.
6. Realize the advantage of using visual and tactile commands in improving the quality of movement.
7. Correct the most common errors in movement according to Polestar Pilates principles.
8. You will gain a theoretical and empirical understanding of Polestar training methods and techniques by practicing the use of verbal, tactile commands and their combinations.

Seminar program:

Polestar Pilates Goals and Objectives.

An introductory part about the Pilates method.

Contraindications for movement of the upper and lower limbs.

Polestar Pilates Mat movement principles (breathing, neutral position, articulation).

Learning Pre-Pilates exercises: exercise technique, verbal/visual commands, modifications. Practical tasks in pairs.

Analyzing and demonstrating Pre-Pilates exercises: correct body position, progressions and regressions, common mistakes.

Performing tasks in groups. Discussion.

Polestar Mat lesson.

Quiz: Course students conduct a lesson. An assessment of learned material. Discussion.

The main goal for this two-day course is that you will be introduced to the Mat lesson planning system using Polestar principles, learn how to sequence exercises/lessons and explain your exercise choices depending on the task.

During the course, you will master 4 level 2 Pilates classes on the mat.

A nice bonus will be 2 additional level 1 lessons on the mat. In addition, the course will include 19 exercises from the Pilates mat repertoire.

Each participant will receive educational cards that they can use as a learning resource.

Also, course participants will have 6 months of free access to a personal Polestar Pilates student account.

This course is required to continue training in the Polestar Pilates Mat program.

Course objectives

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

Pilates  Mat Level II course goals and objectives.

Various pathologies and precautions. Contraindications for upper and lower limb movements.

Analyzing Pilates exercises, learning the correct technique of performing movements.

A two-day practical module that completes the introduction to the Pilates repertoire on the mat.

The program of this course includes getting to know 23 original exercises and their variations, working with well-prepared students, practical exercise demonstration and teaching tasks, and drawing up lesson programs based on customer characteristics.

In order to improve the art of teaching, special attention will be paid to the formation of flawless language modules with the use of various, different visuals, and the training of precise and effective tactile commands.

Course objectives

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

1. Correctly perform 13 exercises from the Polestar Pre-Pilates repertoire and 6 exercises from the Polestar Pilates Mat repertoire.
2. Correctly identify the most important goals and objectives of each exercise.
