
This module introduces participants to the essential principles of group fitness instruction with a focus on classical aerobics. It combines theoretical knowledge with practical application to develop the ability to lead safe, effective, and engaging group exercise sessions to music. Learners will gain skills in class structure design, cueing, music coordination, and choreography development, as well as improve teaching technique through supervised practical sessions in small groups.

Teaching Group Fitness to Music – Coordination of movement and rhythm; the relationship between music and exercise intensity.
The Structure of a Group Fitness Class – Warm-up, main session, cool-down, and stretching methodology.
Exercise Safety – Identifying safe and unsafe movements; adapting exercises for different participant needs.
Warm-up and Stretching Application – Physiological purpose, design, and practical implementation.
Music and Movement Coordination – Tempo, phrasing, and synchronization with exercise patterns.
Basic Aerobic Steps and Technique Execution – Correct performance of fundamental steps and combinations.
Cueing Skills – Development of verbal and visual cueing for effective class leadership.
Music and Choreography – Methods for designing safe, progressive, and engaging choreography.
Delivering Choreography – Implementing self-designed or pre-choreographed routines effectively.
Group Work – Collaborative practice in class planning and choreography development.
