“Exercise and diet are inseparable, mutually influential components of lifestyle. It has even been scientifically proven that people who exercise more often tend to eat healthier, and those who eat healthier tend to exercise more often,” says dietitian Evelina Cikanavičiūtė, emphasizing the importance of nutrition.
The lecturer obtained her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University and completed her residency in dietetics in 2013. Since 2015, she has been working as a dietitian at Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos, as well as a dietitian and lecturer at the Kraujas oncology and hematology patient community and the Vilnius Public Health Office. She is actively interested in professional news, is socially active, participates in the activities of the Lithuanian Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition and the Lithuanian Society of Dietitians, and is the co-author of the book “What to Eat When You Have Cancer?” (2014). The doctor has completed the basic clinical nutrition courses of the European Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition.
She continuously improves her qualifications by reading reports at conferences organized by the Lithuanian Dietitians Association, the Lithuanian Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition, and other organizations. She participates in both Lithuanian and international events related to clinical nutrition.
